SENCO: Mrs Bernardine Harrison
UALS ensures that pupils with SEND are supported in a wide variety of ways including:
- A wide range of intervention strategies through both pastoral and progress monitoring;
- Monitoring of the progress made by pupils on the SEND register by relevant staff with EHCP pupils having a key worker responsible for all aspects of their provision;
- Careful deployment of staff to maximise progress.
The Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice (2015) identifies that high-quality teaching that is differentiated and personalised will meet the individual needs of the majority of children and young people. A child or young person has SEND if they have a learning difficulty or disability which calls for special educational provision to be made for him or her.
