At University Academy Long Sutton we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to discover their strengths, explore their ambitions and make informed choices about their future. This is why we use Unifrog from Year 7 through to Year 11.
Building Aspiration From Year 7
In Year 7 and 8, pupils begin to get to know themselves. Through engaging personality and interest quizzes, they identify their strengths, skills and values.
Whether pupils dream of becoming a marine biologist, engineer chef, teacher or game designer Unifrog opens the door to thousands of career profiles. This helps to raise aspirations and make pupils aware that the future is full of possibilities.
Exploring Opportunities in Year 9
As pupils prepare to choose their GCSE options, Unifrog becomes a valuable tool. Pupils can explore how different subjects link to careers, helping them make informed decisions based on their interests, strengths and future aspirations rather than simply following their friends.
Preparing for the Future in Years 10 and 11
As pupils move into Key Stage 4, Unifrog becomes even more important.
Pupils research post 16 pathways including sixth forms, colleges, apprenticeships and technical education. They compare courses, labour market information and investigate future employment trends. Year 10 use Unifrog to record their work experience placements.
Pupils can also use the platform to;
- Build and record their career journeys
- Create professional CVs and personal profiles
- Reflect on their work experience and enrichment activities
- Research employers, universities and apprenticeship providers
- Develop action plans for their future career goals
Supporting Parents and Carers
Choosing the right pathway can feel overwhelming which is why Unifrog is not just for pupils. Parents can have their own account to enable them to have those informed conversations at home in order to help their child to make decisions about the future.
